It was a sunny Friday afternoon and the pandemic had just reared its ugly head with a state of emergency being issued a week or so before. Jay and I were giddy with the prospect of a two week "staycation" (LOL, am I right...two years later). He asked if I wanted to go for a picnic and off we went to Ontario Place. We sat by the water, ate charcuterie and drank wine, then made our way over to an abandoned wooded area right at golden hour, a little hidden gem of a spot that if you strung up some twinkly lights, it would've looked like it was right out of a magazine. He seemed a bit nervous but I thought nothing of it, until the next thing I know Jay is down on one knee and asking me to marry him! I immediately said yes and knew I was truly with my soulmate, especially when he agreed to take a ton of pictures with me and my new sparkly accessory haha. I never thought we would get engaged in a pandemic but what a story to tell Theo when he is older xo

Dear friends and family, We held out so much hope that our wedding would be able to go on as planned however we have made the extremely difficult decision to postpone our reception. Due to the incredibly tight restrictions that are currently in place, we would not be able to properly celebrate in the way we want and hoped for. Our ceremony will still be held on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at 3:30pm (same location) which all are welcome to attend however we will only be celebrating after with a small group of our immediate family and wedding party. Please save our new reception date in your calendars for Friday, July 15th, 2022. We will also send out a reminder closer to the new date. We have always known that changes in our wedding could become a reality due to the pandemic, but having to make the choice to actually postpone our reception has been heartbreaking. We love and care about the health and happiness of our friends and family so we know this is the right decision. As we have to let our venue know of the guests who will still be attending the ceremony, please update your RSVP to reflect if you will be able to attend or regretfully decline by Monday, September 13th. We cannot wait to see you at our ceremony if you still choose to attend on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at 3:30pm and at our new reception date of Friday, July 15th, 2022 where we will be able to celebrate with you the way it should be done: filled with laughter, joy and love and hopefully no masks!
