Question

When and how to arrive?

Answer

Nevada Beach is a very popular area and parking tends to fill up before 10:00am.... Ugh! We realize arrivals before 10:00am may be difficult for guests who want to sleep in, but it is recommended. We will have a private and personalized shuttle available for those who do not wish to drive to and from the beach. The shuttle will also be able to take people who park in overflow areas near the state line once beach parking fills. See the FAQ just below this one for details on shuttle scheduling The shuttle will drop guests off at the parking lot entrance. There will be a short walk from the lot entrance to the pavilion. Arrivals between 9-11am will most likely have a longer walk, as there will be a line of cars in front of the lot entrance. Ride share options are also readily available for those who would like, but the same logistics apply. If you want to park your own car, parking in the Nevada Beach parking lot costs $10.00 and there is free parking near the entrance along the road, but this parking tends to fill-up by 10am. If you can't find parking in the designated Nevada Beach parking, then park at the Safeway near the beach. It has been cleared with Safeway that this is ok. However, prepared for about a mile-long walk to the beach from the Safeway! In the later morning we will have the shuttle going to and from the Safeway parking lot.

Question

Where specifically is the beach party?

Answer

On Nevada Beach. Specifically at the Nevada Beach Pavilion. The beach is large and below is a link to the exact location: https://goo.gl/maps/hG9djYfpvZYihQcS6

Question

Is there a ceremony?

Answer

No, we will already be married by the time of the party. We still want to celebrate with you though!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The party is at the beach! Please wear swimsuits, sandals, shorts, tank tops, and any other beach appropriate attire. Do not wear formal attire as this is not a wedding and will be out of place on the beach.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We suggest staying somewhere in or around the city of South Lake Tahoe, near the state line. Zephyr Cove is also a great option as it's very close to Nevada Beach. We highly recommend to make reservations early, as this part of Lake Tahoe is extremely popular in the summer.

Question

Is there a registry and should I bring a gift?

Answer

We do not expect any gifts from our guests. Your presence is gift enough! However, we are heading to Kauai for our Honeymoon, so if you would like to contribute to our experience then you can find our Honeymoon fund on the registry page!

Question

What should I bring for the floatie and swimsuit contest?

Answer

Bring your floatie and swimsuit A-game! In the afternoon, we will be voting on and announcing winners of the contest and will be giving out prizes!

Question

What should I bring?

Answer

We will provide many chairs for those flying in. If you are a local, please bring your own beach chair! Please bring towels, sunscreen, and an umbrella (if you want shade on the beach.) We encourage bringing your best swimsuit and floatie for the contest. We will have many different choices for alcohol, but if you have something you want specifically then please bring it! Please remember, no glass is allowed on the beach, but is allowed in the pavilion area.

Question

Are dogs allowed?

Answer

Dogs are not allowed at the Pavillion where the party will be held. There is a dog friendly beach at Nevada Beach, but it is a distance away from the pavillion. Try to book a dog friendly hotel and leave your dog there or plan for boarding options!
