Flight
From experience, the smoothest travel day from the UK is flying direct from (LHR) to (SFO) both Virgin Atlantic and British Airways fly this rout daily. Alternatively you can fly into (SJC) or (MRY) which are closer to Salinas, however, you may have more connecting flights in your travel day.
Travel Note
If you are travelling from the UK you will need to fill out an ESTA before you travel. You can do this on esta.gov. It costs approx. 50pounds and is eligable for 2 years. Make sure you bring a copy with you ready for boarder control when you land in the USA.
Rental Car
We strongly reccomend booking a rental car if you are looking to explore California! Our public transportation here is extreamly poor. SFO to Salinas is a 1.5hr-2.5hr drive. SJC to Salinas is a 1hr to 2hr drive. If you are uncomfortable driving this distance after you land you can take the Airport Shuttle seen above and rent a car from Avis or Hertz at our small local Monterey Airport!
Travel Note
From San Francisco Airport or San Jose Airport the Monterey Shuttle can be booked through Groome Transportation. You can get off in Marina or Monterey and arrange a friend to pick you up or UBER to your accomadation.
