The Perfect Proposal

April 7, 2024

Throughout our relationship we have always found enjoyment traveling and experiencing new things together. I have wanted to visit the Biltmore for years but just haven’t made it happen. McGinnis knew this and decided to plan my dream trip. After hours of research and planning we finally headed up on April 6th. We enjoyed our first day by having lunch at Cedric’s Tavern, our first tour of the house and dinner reservations at The Dining Room…. The perfect proposal opportunity right? Nope! The next day we grabbed coffee and headed back to the Biltmore Estate for a roof top tour…. Another perfect proposal opportunity right? Nope! We enjoyed lunch at the Stable Cafe and took our time enjoying the gardens. The weather, the conversation, the quality time could have not been more perfect! After a busy two days we started to wind down and head to the room for a little rest before dinner reservations. Little did I know that bottle of water and rest in the courtyard was all a stalling tactic! As we started to head back to The Inn, McGinnis pointed out a statue and said let’s go see that real quick. The grounds were crowded with photographers and girls dressed in their prom attire. As we got to the top of the bridge we looked for someone to take one more picture of us… of course there was a photographer standing there (that “had a few more minutes before their client arrived”) that could snap a few pictures. We took a picture then turned around to take in the view. At this point I am still oblivious to what is happening. McGinnis is telling me how he can’t wait to come back to bring Brady and how we will be a married couple. He gets down on a knee, takes out the ring and asks me to marry him. I wish I could remember all the details of his speech but I was in shock!!! As I began to realize what was happening I was finally able to say yes (but only after several No Ways!) That photographers “client” was there and he walked up to introduce himself. He was so patient and did an amazing job at taking shots in-between the happy tears, laughs and sobbing fits of disbelief. The thought and planning McGinnis put into this was absolutely incredible and he truly knew how to take this girls breath away. After calling all the family, we celebrated with dinner at The Bistro. Day 3 can be described as on cloud 9! It was full of touring the house and retracing the our steps from the day before. Could you name anything more perfect?
