Despite both being Mechanical Engineering students at BYU for the past 4 years, we met last summer in Albuquerque, NM. At the beginning of the summer, we started hanging out with a group of interns and decided to take a day trip to White Sands. This required almost 7 hours of driving, during which we were the only two people to stay awake the whole time. We discovered that we had similar tastes in music and could keep a conversation going for most of the trip. After getting back from White Sands, we all decided to watch Dune 2. Somehow during the day, I developed the idea that Tage totally had a crush on me. I decided that the next move was to place my hand between Tage and me on the couch so he could hold it if he wanted. Tage eventually started to catch on to this plan and after a mere 45 minutes of us moving our hands towards each other so slowly it was almost imperceptible, we held hands for the first time. The next day, Tage asked me on our first date and the rest is history.
After getting married in April, we are traveling to Barcelona, Spain for our honeymoon; spending a weekend in Irvine, CA for the Open House; and then returning to Albuquerque for the summer. In the fall, we will both start PhD programs at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
