I had just moved from Frisco to Dallas and Maddy and I were ready for a relaxing pool day. Relaxing it was until a crew of boys rolled in, music playing and ready to party. We got to know the boys and I ended the night with Greyson asking for my number. I gave him my number even though he was sporting a distinct mustache and we were matching with our neon pink swimsuits. Greyson and I became friends and started hanging out. Months went by and then Greyson let me know he had feelings for me. I was nervous to be more than just friends, but I gave it a shot and we've been together ever since!
After our move to Tennessee, we planned a trip to Gatlinburg to celebrate. We enjoyed our first night eating takeout Chinese food (my favorite) while enjoying the view from our little cabin in the woods. Saturday, we woke up and headed out for our hike. Greyson had planned the entire weekend, so I was just along for the ride. When we made it to the trail, we realized it was closed for the weekend. No worries, until we made it to the second option and there were so many people we couldn't find parking. Third times a charm, so we thought. We finally headed out and once we were 4 hours in we realized this was not a scenic hike and there was no end in site. Greyson and I decided to take a break. As we started to head back, he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so excited to finally put the ring on, but my fingers were so swollen from the hike my ring finger started turning purple. Needless to say the ring was put back in the box. Hours later, little to no talking and lots of sweat we finally made it out! To say I had to work for that ring would be an understatement. Not exactly your perfect proposal, but we will forever have a funny story to tell.
