Being such the nice guy he is, Carter brings Haylee a vanilla F'real milkshake from Kwik Star late after his shift to her dorm at Luther College. They sat and chatted for a few hours getting to know each other when at 12:30am the fire alarms go off in the dorm. Even though it was late and they stood outside for 45 minutes to go back in, they still sat and chatted for another hour before they realized how late it actually was.

What else could make a trip to Jamaica over Haylee's 21st birthday any more memorable? A very special birthday present of course! To start out the day before going to the pool-side bar, Carter gets down on one knee to ask the question. The best part of the whole affair is the location where he proposed. Not on the beach, not by the palm trees, but the place where Carter spends the most time: the bathroom. To his defense, the toilet made the perfect prop to hold his phone while he recorded the big question. Haylee did say yes in that moment, and definitely had to ask later "why the bathroom of all places?"
