It was just past midnight in Hoi An, Vietnam, when Eric and Shannon's paths crossed at an open-air bar on the Thu Bon river. A friend of Eric's asked Shannon to take a photo, and instead she turned the camera around and took a group selfie instead. Sparks flew and they spent the rest of the night dancing salsa under the stars on the riverbank. They spent the next year and a half seeing the world together.

Eric planned a romantic getaway to the White Mountains in New Hampshire to view the fall foliage. After reaching the summit of Mount Willard, Eric got down on one knee and proposed.
