Our Story

"Sunday Funday"

Ryan and Meg met at a local bar through a mutual friend over President's Day weekend in 2018. Due to the long weekend, Ryan and Meg both decided to celebrate by heading out for a few drinks on Sunday afternoon. This type of activity is often referred to as a "Sunday Funday." Naturally, Ryan was the first to strike up a conversation. Quickly they both realized they had a lot in common and a number of close connections. Both being teachers, Meg shared her interest in a fellowship opportunity overseas with Ryan. Ryan asked Meg to send him the information via text so he could look it over later on, not realizing he got her phone number in the process. Ryan followed up with Meg the next day and the two messaged each other back and forth for a few weeks before going on their first date. Many of the dates that followed happened to be on Sundays as well. Ryan and Meg continued their Sunday tradition by getting engaged on a Sunday and plan to get married on a Sunday. Over the past three years, Ryan and Meg have traveled across the country, visited Europe, and shared many other adventures together. They have endured the COVID-19 pandemic, several new jobs, multiple residence changes, graduate school, the purchase of a new home, and moving in together with Winifred. During this time, their love has grown and their desire to party on Sundays has never wavered. Ryan and Meg can't wait to celebrate the next "Sunday Funday" with all of you at their wedding!

The Proposal

04.11.21

The day prior to Meg and Ryan's three year anniversary a "Sunday Funday" was planned. Meg and Ryan shared the same spring break and wanted to celebrate their last day of "freedom!" Ryan was planning on proposing at the beach that day with a surprise engagement party to follow. As luck would have it, the weather was cold and rainy, setting Ryan into an early morning panic about where and how to propose. Because the engagement party was already planned for that day, the proposal couldn't wait. Even with a new plan, Meg knew something was up! In order to generate suspense, Ryan asked Meg to wear a blindfold for a "surprise" after they got into the car to drive into town. Meg was then driven to a local park and walked into a gazebo along the bay, where Ryan proposed. Little did she know, family was hiding in the bushes to capture their special moment. As if one blindfold wasn't enough, Meg was asked to put the blindfold on again after getting back into the car. A surprise engagement party was waiting for her, including family who traveled from near and far to celebrate the beginning of their life together.
