Our wedding ceremony will be held on Monday, June 1, in the style of Friends (Quakers). Traditionally, Quaker weddings are self-uniting ceremonies held without a wedding officiant. We will marry one another, witnessed by the friends and family who have shaped our lives. The ceremony begins in silence to create space for reflection. From there, anyone present may stand and speak if they feel genuinely moved to share a message, reflection, or well-wish (think heartfelt toasts). Please speak as you feel led, leaving a moment of silence between each speaker. There is no expectation to speak or prepare remarks in advance. Guests who feel moved to speak may share things such as: -A brief reflection on love, partnership, or commitment -A well-wish for our life and marriage together -A personal memory or observation about one or both of us -A memory, piece of wisdom, or meaningful quote or poem
