Bryce’s journey to Purdue University began in the fall of 2020, in the uncertain months following the COVID-19 outbreak. That September, he found himself working at the Boilermaker Butcher Block, unaware that this job would someday change his life. McKenna arrived at Purdue as a freshman in the fall of 2021 and started working at the Boilermaker Butcher Block that November. Side by side, amid early mornings, hard work, and the unmistakable mix of sweat and grit, a friendship began to grow. There’s something about shared work—and maybe even blood and guts—that brings people closer. Bryce claims that if someone can look good in a yellow apron, hairnet, and hard hat, they can look good in anything—and McKenna proved him right every day. Their friendship grew stronger with each conversation and countless games of basketball, where Bryce shined as an inspiring Purdue star and McKenna cheered him on to something more realistic like the water boy. Though the feelings were there, Bryce took his time before asking McKenna on a date. On November 13, 2022, on the drive home from NAILE, Bryce and McKenna officially began their story. From that day on, they did everything together—attending country music concerts, traveling to cattle shows, and bonding over their shared love of Harry’s Chocolate Shop. Whether working cattle or helping on the family farm, they discovered that life is better when shared. On August 16, 2025, Bryce proposed to McKenna in the cattle barn while washing sale calves—a moment perfectly fitting for a love built on toil, persistence, and shared dreams. We are so excited for everyone to celebrate with us and share our special day this September as we begin the next season of our life.
