The first time we met was in the halls of Lake Area Tech. I was looking for a classroom as I happened to run into Hayden, and he showed me the way. Throughout the next week, we kept bumping into one another in the halls and at lunch. He finally asked me one time for my number and we started talking more. Our first time we really spent time together was at my house and we rode horse. Minus how far apart we lived, he would come and surprise me after work, bringing flowers and going out to eat. We spent countless hours together talking and learning about each other.

It started out as a cold, foggy day. We headed out to Sisseton to go turkey hunting. We spent the morning chasing turkeys and exploring. With no success that morning, we decided to go hiking in Sica Hollow. We hiked many different trails and explored the park. When we came to this bridge crossing a waterfall, I was staring up at the scenery, and I turned around and there he was, on one knee.
