Our story began with a little distance — Kaitlin living in Buffalo and Hayden in Rochester — and a very unexpected message. Hayden came across Kaitlin on social media and, instead of a hello, sent a video of two dogs he was dog-sitting. No words, just wagging tails. Kaitlin replied about how cute the dogs were, and from there, one conversation effortlessly turned into another. Our first date started in the kitty litter aisle of Wegmans (romantic, we know) and ended with Italian food and cocktails — a sign of many great meals to come. Days turned into weeks, weeks into a month, and before we knew it, Hayden asked Kaitlin to join him on a six-hour sailing trip from Sodus Bay to the Port of Rochester.
