Our story began in January 2016 while working at The Sugar Bowl, an ice cream parlor in Old Town Scottsdale. Amid banana splits and hot fudge sundaes, we were instantly drawn to each other. But we hesitated and failed to act. Soon after, one of us quit, and the other moved away. Shortly after we had graduated from ASU in May of 2017, Hayden reached out after seeing a string of pictures Alissa had posted from a hike at Watson Lake. We discovered a common interest in hiking and exploring the outdoors. Hayden had never been to Watson Lake or hiked in the Dells, so we planned to go there. For a summer, we explored various areas of Arizona, constantly adventuring, as we had almost no responsibilities. We fell in love that summer but never said it to each other. After the summer, we got 'real jobs'. The pressures of our new careers began to take a toll, and we broke things off. Although we no longer spoke, we always remembered and thought fondly of each other and that summer of adventures. Eventually, in December of 2019, Hayden reached out again following a social media post, asking about Alissa's cat, an excuse to reach out and reconnect. We realized we missed each other and decided to go on an adventure like the old times. When we saw each other again, something clicked into place. We had stayed the same in the ways that made us fall in love the first time. Still, we evolved into improved people, making our renewed relationship effortless. Since reconnecting and devoting ourselves to each other, we have created a life of love, adventures, and future aspirations. Our shared dreams aren't possible without one another, and we understand how lucky we are to have found our way back to each other more and more every day.   Our wedding ceremony is at Watson Lake, a special place and a part of our story.
