Both Jordan and McKenna were born and raised in the PNW however their paths had never quite crossed. Out of college, Jordan and McKenna both joined the Navy. Both attended a five week training course in Newport Rhode Island. Their paths finally crossed when they were both selected to be on a track relay team. Before the race, they were placed into a groupchat with the other team members. The second “253” number caught McKenna’s eye. When the team met up before the race, McKenna asked who else was from Washington and met Jordan. It has been greatly debated on who made the first move. Was it Jordan following McKenna on Instagram? Or was it McKenna texting Jordan about a run? Regardless, Jordan and McKenna started going on runs together and spending time with friends. A few days after graduation, Jordan and McKenna went on their first date in Bethesda Maryland consisting of pizza and Crumbl cookies. The next morning, they took the train into DC to run around the national mall and explore the monuments. Later that same day, Jordan and McKenna boarded flights to their first duty stations. Jordan to Twentynine Palms CA and McKenna to San Antonio TX. While unsure of what the future would look like for them, they decided that if it was meant to be, God would make it happen. About a month later, both were in Washington for Christmas. On a very rainy hike, Jordan and McKenna decided to officially start dating trusting that God would figure out the rest. Two days later, they both flew back to their new homes. They spent the first year and a half of their relationship doing long distance with weekend trips every few months to visit. Once McKenna finished up her first part of school, she moved to San Diego CA to begin her clinical rotations. Finally living in the same state with just a three hour drive separating them, they were excited to be done with long distance! Three months later, Jordan proposed at the Torrey Pines! Jordan and McKenna recently found out they will be moving to Guam after the wedding and are excited to start this next adventure!
