After messaging for a month or so, our schedules finally lined up for us to meet for the first time. We had a nice dinner at 600 Kitchen in Kalamazoo where we were both nervous to meet each other. However, we enjoyed each other’s company so much, we planned to meet up again the next day. Luckily for us, we lived in the same apartment complex which made meeting up easy for us! We often would walk to the brewery/tap house near our apartments for a drink and nice chat on the patio when we were first dating.

For our first trip together, we went down to Chicago for a weekend. We had a nice time exploring the Windy City through immersive art exhibits, walks along the Chicago River, and the aquarium. This was only the start of our many travel adventures! Since then, we have traveled many places in the United States and recently on our first international trip to Madeira, Portugal.

We recently went on a trip to Madeira to do some hiking and relaxing. On Valentine’s Day, we were on a hike with dramatic scenery of the ocean, cliffs, and winding trails when Henry asked the big question. Of course the answer was enthusiastically yes (I’ve been waiting for this day!! - Taylor). We stood there taking in the moment and appreciating each other’s company before finishing up our hike. That evening we enjoyed a nice dinner at our mountain-top hotel and reached out to our friends and families with the exciting news.
