On a blustery evening in late March of 2019, two strangers met at a great place for tacos and tequila in Boston's Seaport (but you’ve probably already heard of it). Eric remembers the moment Taylor walked into the foyer of Lolita's. How could he forget that face? He had seen it only 30 seconds prior when he panic-avoided Taylor, who was talking on the phone outside of the restaurant. Not wanting to interrupt, Eric sailed past her and into the restaurant - pretending not to notice her. After Taylor’s shock at the fact that Eric had neglected to make a reservation had worn off (at a taco restaurant on a Tuesday of all nights), Eric quickly began pulling out every play in the book to try and recover the evening and its arguably shaky start. Luckily, conversation flowed and the rest is history. Years later Eric would admit to Taylor that he did in fact recognize her outside the restaurant but pretended not to see her out of sheer nervousness - all while she pretended to be talking to her boss. Fast forward four years to April 2023. A trip to the park under the guise of a 3 PM picnic before a 5:30 PM dinner reservation raised absolutely no eyebrows. A blanket was set out at the top of the hill; a late-afternoon sandwich was enjoyed; the Boston skyline gleamed in the background. Once Eric had mustered the courage (he knew he had to hurry up or else Taylor would have no feeling in her extremities to enjoy the big moment), he knelt down and asked Taylor the question he'd always hoped she’d say yes to. Through chattered teeth and a freezing tear or two, the answer was clear: Yes! We are both so excited to continue our story with you on our special day. We cannot wait to see you at Castle Hill in October!
