I had a crush on Parker from afar. I was just biding my time and waiting for an opportunity to actually meet him. That time came my junior year of college when he walked into the bar I was at with some friends. I, who had a full drink at the time, ditched my drink so I had an excuse to walk up next to him at the bar. My goal was to get his attention or maybe even strike up a conversation. Parker didn't disappoint. He immediately came up to me and said, "You're Kylie, right?" and from there it was over for me. We went on our first date that next week. Parker had a confidence and magnetism about him that was unparalleled. He was charismatic and sincere. He looked at me in a way I'll never forget. I knew by the end of our first date that this was the man I was going to marry. We were too busy talking that we forgot to order dinner. We looked up and the restaurant staff was stacking the chairs on the tables to close up for the night. We've been talking ever since.
Kylie lied. We met before our formal introduction at the bar downtown. Kylie and I met briefly for the first time in the fall of 2015. It was a very brief but fun night out with friends from Butler. I didn’t know it then, but I knew that I wanted the opportunity to get to know her and go out with her. Fast forward to February 25, 2016, our first date. I remember everything. The time we left campus to go to an Italian restaurant in Broad Ripple, to what she wore, the wine we drank, the food we forgot to order, and the two and half hour conversation we had to complete our true kismet, passion and what I knew, was eternal love for each other. They may have stacked up the chairs while we were finishing our second bottle, but that did not signify the end of anything, only the beginning.
