Galway city is a lovely town to visit, and we also recommend going to the Cliffs of Moher. Day trips from Galway and Dublin can be booked through tour companies, or you can drive yourself if you choose to rent a car.
For those wanting to venture outside Dublin, Blarney Castle is a castle near Cork, about 3 hours away from Dublin via car. The Irish Rail also offers a direct train from Dublin to Cork. The castle is famous for the Blarney Stone which is fabled to give you the gift of gab if you kiss it!
The Ring of Kerry is a scenic drive in West Ireland that's named one of the most beautiful areas in Ireland. The drive boasts dramatic landscape views, medieval castles, and mysterious ancient ring forts. It starts and ends in Killarney, and requires either a car, or joining a tour group.
