We met through some mutual friends at a GCU basketball game. At the game, we discussed our majors, interests, hobbies, etc. He teased me saying "Hospitality wasn't a hard major that anyone could do" and that his nursing program was "much more difficult." It was so difficult that he dropped out and decided to pursue a career in HVAC. From there, we didn't talk for a while...that is until 2020 happened. When 2020 came along, we reconnected over lunch. There, we caught up and discussed our lives and the future we want for ourselves. Since then, we've been inseparable.

Shea told me a month prior to take the day off and to dress nicely on August 26th. He said he had the entire day planned and it was a surprise. First, he took me to the breakfast cafe we had ever been to. Next, we went to the gorgeous Japanese Friendship Garden in Downtown Phoenix. We walked all around the pond until we came across this beautiful waterfall. He told me how much he loved me and I told him how much I loved him...that's when it happened. He got down on one knee and popped the question, "Will you marry me?" and I shouted "YES!" From there we continued with our day and celebrated this wonderful occasion with each other. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Phoenix!
