Friday, February 16th, started like any other day. We got up, started work and after work the plan was to go to the National Harbor to meet Parsa’s family for dinner to celebrate his grandparents anniversary (or so Haven thought). We left the house right at 5pm and made our way there. Haven was driving and ended up missing the exit (no surprise there) which pushed us back a little, but Parsa remained cool. When we arrived at the harbor, Parsa told Haven that everyone was running late and we were going to grab a drink at the bar while we waited. After about 30 minutes he lets Haven know that he actually was surprising her and taking her on the ferris wheel which is why we arrived earlier than the actual dinner time. We walked over to the ferris wheel and got on the ride. We had so much fun on the ride and Parsa remained cool, calm, and collected the entire time. Haven had no idea what was to come in the next few minutes. Once we got off the ferris wheel and started walking, Parsa kept looking at his phone and looking around.. which later to find out was because Parsa wanted to ensure that the photographer was indeed ready for us to make our way down the pier. He even called his sister, Sami, to make sure everything was okay for us to start walking. At this point, Haven still thought we were meeting the family for dinner so she thought nothing of it. As we started to make our way down the pier, this is when Parsa started to act a little strange. He seemed to be walking to a certain spot on the pier, which Haven would later find out was because he wanted to ensure we were at the perfect spot for photos with the big red heart on the ferris wheel behind them. Finally, Parsa gets down on one knee and pulls out this beautiful red heart box with the engagement ring of Haven's dreams inside. With an immediate "yes" from Haven, the next thing we knew, our two families were running towards us on the pier. It was truly one of the best nights of Haven and Parsa's lives :)
