How We Met

Highschool Sweethearts

Hava's POV - Matt was my first friend I made in high school. I went to the bus stop on my first day of high school, first day of Freshman year, and he was the only other kid also waiting for the SAIL High School bus. While filling out my bus paperwork, he asked me for a pen. Not super romantic, I know, but everybody has to meet somehow! First things I noticed about him were that he was kind, gentle, and absolutely hilarious. No matter my mood during the day, I knew that he would be making me laugh on my bus ride home. Throughout my Freshman year I realized I had on and off crushes on him, but squashed them down thinking "Oh, that'll never happen. Older kid in the neighborhood, he totally doesn't see me that way, he's probably out of my league anyways" and moved on from the thoughts. And then during my sophomore year, I went through some heavy struggles. They hit me pretty hard, and one day during it all, Matt came to check on me. I'll admit it wasn't instantaneous, but that moment made something click in me that made me realize how much I truly care for this person. How much he could care for me and I simply don't realize it, that maybe I had more of a chance with him than I originally thought. So I made the first move and was honest with him about how I was feeling. I really liked him, but was nervous to potentially harm him. I didn't want him to just feel like he was being used to get me through a tough time, so we agreed we should wait a few weeks. See how it goes. A few weeks go by of continuous talking and hanging out at school and on the bus, and feelings on both ends were still running high as ever and climbing. So I talked to him again about feeling very confident about wanting to be with him, and on October 25th, 2017, Matt and I officially became a couple. The rest has been more than I could have ever hoped for, and I wouldn't trade these past 7 years of my life for anything else. To grow and learn and live life with him has been absolutely beautiful. And now, my little girl dreams of marrying a man who treats me right, puts me above anything else, and loves me with his entire being are finally coming true. Matt's POV - I still remember the first day that I met Hava at the bus stop when we were the only people waiting at the bus stop for it to come pick us up. We became friends instantly and I started to grow more and more attached with her as well. I would always enjoy being the person on the way to and from school to make her laugh and brighten up her day, and even though we didn't start dating for over a year after we had met, I still continued to show my care and affection for her every single day. One day though, that all changed when I noticed her crying in the cafeteria, and me wanting to cheer her up went to go check on her and make sure she was okay. I don't know if it was just that simple act of concern or want for her well being, but she began to start talking to me more and more during our own time. One thing led to another and low and behold, she confessed her feelings for me, the same feelings I've had for her since we met. We started dating on October 25th and neither of us have looked back since. We both make each other very happy and help each other grow into better versions of ourselves everyday! I can't wait to finish up what has been the best 7 years of my life to start a new chapter with my wife!
