It all started back in Emily & Eric's senior year of high school at Parkway West in St. Louis, Missouri. They both shared the same group of friends, spending Friday nights at football games, going to movies, and even attended dances together as a group. Despite sharing that mutual friend group, they were never that close prior... That last semester of high school, Emily & Eric shared the same anatomy class... said the occasional "hi" to one another, but nothing more than that. Until one day, the class watched a video on someone getting an appendectomy... we won't go into details, but they used cautery to remove it. As the video comes to an end, the class hears a weird noise and the teacher turns on the lights. Eric was slumped over - the poor kid passed out from the video. Keep in mind - this was when he had aspirations to follow his dad's footsteps to be in the medical field! All of this earned him a trip to the nurse's office where Emily checked in on Eric with a tweet saying "the medical field is not for you, kid." And that's where it all started... kind of. ;-) Eric could not get over their shared tweets back and forth... I guess you could call this an introduction to this current generation's way of "flirting". As senior year comes to a close and prom approaching, dates amongst their friends (at least the ones not already a couple) were quickly being snatched up. Eric recalls the scenario in physics class flipping a coin with a friend for their dates to prom. Emily was one of them. Naturally, Eric was too accommodating to tell his friend who he really wanted to take, but in fairness to his friend, left it up to chance. The coin flipped in Eric's favor, which 'set his stars' on his future with Emily after a memorable first date to prom, into a summer spent together, making things 'official'.

It may not be in entirety, but Emily and Eric have shared the last 11 years together. The long distance apart with 'ups & downs' over the years only helped to shape the love and deep connection they share today. In the city it all began, they now share a home together in the neighborhoods of South Hampton with one, BIG “fur-baby,” Stanley. After two years of living together, it was time to start writing the final chapter of their love story. While on an annual vacation with Emily's family, Eric decided to propose to Emily, knowing this was her most favorite place in the world. That day on 9-9-2021 somehow worked in his favor - Eric recalling the anxiety texting back and forth with Emily's mother for the weather forecast putting a 'damper' on the sunset proposal he secretly had planned. Yet again, Eric's 'stars were set' and with only 60 min of sunlight, they raced down to the beach to share a drink and watch the sun fall. Emily was completely unaware of the inevitable event that followed, with Eric down on one knee asking for her hand in marriage. Returning to the same area of our proposal, it’s with great pleasure we invite you to be a part of this final chapter of our love story on 11-11-2022. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
