How we Met

Unrequited Love

Unrequited Love: adj. love that is not openly reciprocated or understood as such by the beloved. It was the first day of second semester freshman year for the both of us. 7th hour civics class with Mr. Sabetti. Neither one of us knew each other, but somehow ended up sitting only inches away. "Turn to the person next to you and tell them what you did over the weekend!" "Well, I worked at Chick-fil-a." -J "They have those here?!" -H Being from Georgia, I didn't think Chick-fil-a's exsisted outside of the southern boarders. Once learning that both of us shared this tiny thing in common, I started to see and hear a lot more about Jonny at school. I fell immidiatly in love. The flowy hair, the green eyes, how tall he was, the list could go on. Jonny on the other hand probably only considered me a "class friend" and nothing else. That's how it was for the next few years. Me waiting to snatch him up and Jonny not knowing what was going to hit him.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

Winning Big

Senior year of high school, Hannah and I started to talk more and hang out some outside of school. One day, I decided to ask her if she wanted to go to the casino with me. She had never been but agreed. It wasn't my lucky day. I ended up not winning a single penny, but my curfew was midnight so I had to give up. As I drove her home, I decided that I wanted to tell her that I wanted to be more than friends, and I thought of the cheesiest line I could. As I pulled into her driveway, I worked up the courage to ask... "I might've lost tonight at the casino, but I would be a big winner if you would be my girlfriend." Suprisingly, it worked! She said yes!

The Proposal

March 6, 2022

The morning started with church and I (Hannah) had some inclination that something would be happening that day because while getting ready Emma Cate (Hannah's sister) made sure I looked cute, put on makeup and asked, "If you were to take pictures in that outfit would you like it?" After church, we went to our favorite sushi restaraunt for all you can eat sushi. We talked and ate and eventually the inclination of a propasal left my mind. After sushi, we decided to try out a new brewery. We started playing some card games and then all of a sudden Jonny said, "Ok, let's go!" "Are we on some kind of schedule?" -H "Uhhhh... no." -J That's when that thought of proposal popped back in Hannah's head. Jonny suggested we go to one of our favorite hammock spots in the summer time but to see what it is like in the winter. The entire ride there was silent. The only noise was music and it was honestly quieter than usual. At that point I (Hannah) knew something was going down. We got there and parked and started walking, the only problem was, there were 2 mountain bikers in the spot where Jonny was planning on proposing. I (Jonny) tried to kill some time and make these people move by taking pictures of Hannah with my phone. Finally, they left and I texted Joel (Jonny's college roommate) to move into postition! I told Hannah to turn around again so I could take some photos of her looking over the scenery. As she was turning around, I got down on one knee and blacked out for the next 3 minutes. Apparently some words came out of my mouth, but all I know for sure is that she said yes!!
