FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

To the wedding we would love for you to keep it classy. We are going with a fashionably formal look, dressed to impress for photos and comfortable to dance the night away.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We all know that the groom goes by Greek time which means "he is always on time" despite his usual tartiness. However, the bride is a wee bit more prompt. Please plan to arrive around 3pm so that you have time to secure a spot, meet your neighbors, give the program a good look over, and admire the beauty of the church.

Question

What is a Greek Orthodox Wedding Ceremony?

Answer

The Orthodox sacrament of marriage is unique in many ways, but primarily in that the ceremony has remained almost entirely unchanged since its origination centuries ago. Another notable aspect of the Orthodox marriage is that the bride and groom do not exchange vows; instead it is their presence before Christ through the priest and the congregation that signifies their wish to be joined and to accept the Lord into their new home. Finally, in the Orthodox tradition, the wedding ceremony is actually two services in one. The first, which is the briefer of the two, is the Service of Betrothal, during which the rings are exchanged. The second, the Service of Crowning, is longer and includes many prayers offered for the couple, the crowning of the bride and groom in marriage, sharing of the common cup and the celebrational procession around the table. To see detailed descriptions of the various parts of this 45 minute service, please visit the "Overview" page.

Question

May we take photos during the wedding ceremony?

Answer

We want you to be able to really enjoy our wedding ceremony, feeling truly present and in the moment with us. This in mind, we invite you to put down all your favorite devices and just be present in the moment with us. Please leave your camera in your bag (we have photography and videography covered), and put your cell phone on mute (we promise they will call back). We are happy to share our professional wedding photos later, but the greatest gift you can give us today is just being fully here with us in this sacred and special moment.

Question

May I bring a date?

Answer

In order to keep our guest list on track, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. Please feel free to connect with us should you have any additional questions.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Thank you for thinking of us and how you can bless us in our next chapter in life together. We are formally registered on Amazon and through Pampered Chef (both links are available by clicking "Registry" at the top of this website). However, you may notice that as we merge our two households, we are grateful to not need much. As we plan for a honeymoon later in 2019, we would be overjoyed with any financial support for our travel fund. Although, we hope you know what means the most, is having you at the wedding to raise a toast.
