Q & A

Question

When to RSVP by?

Answer

Your response by July 1st, 2026 is kindly requested as we finalize our guest count with our venues. We would be honored to celebrate with you; however, if we do not receive a reply by that date, we will assume you are unable to attend.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is semi‑formal attire, with dark colors preferred. We kindly request that guests refrain from wearing jeans. The ceremony will take place outdoors on a grass lawn with a gravel walkway to the ceremony location. Please consider this when selecting your footwear. We encourage you to bring comfortable shoes for the reception as we look forward to celebrating with you on the dance floor!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are excited to have an intimate day celebrating our love with our family and friends. As much as we would love all of our guests to bring a plus one, only guests whose invitation states 'plus one' are kindly asked to bring a guest. However, the dance will be open to the public and your plus one is more than welcome to join us to celebrate at this time. We appreciate your understanding and cannot wait to celebrate together!

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

We are hopeful for a beautiful day for our wedding; however, should the weather prove unfavorable, our venue offers a covered option to ensure the celebration can proceed. Nothing will put a damper on our day!

Question

Recommendations on accommodation?

Answer

We appreciate that a lot of our guests are travelling from outside of Charlottetown. There are plenty of beautiful hotel options in Downtown Charlottetown, however, we are getting married during the busiest time of year, therefore, hotels book up quickly. We highly recommend confirming accommodations as soon as possible to ensure a place to stay! A couple of hotels in Downtown Charlottetown have been generous and provided discounts for our guests. Please see the 'Travel' tab for more information.

Question

What can we do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 3:00pm, to provide adequate time for the wedding party to take pictures, the reception will start at 6:00pm. Please keep in mind that there is a 30 minute commute from The Gardens of Hope to the PEI Brewing Company. The Gardens of Hope is a beautiful location and we highly recommend taking time to walk through the Gardens and take in the views of beautiful New Glasgow! If staying at a hotel, you could use the time between the ceremony and reception as time to check into your accommodations. Alternatively, there are many restaurants in Downtown Charlottetown, if you would like to stop for a beverage (there will be lots of food at the reception), take a walk along Charlottetown's waterfront, or the PEI Brewing Company's taproom will be open if you prefer to head right to the venue!

Question

Food and drink

Answer

During the reception, we will enjoy in‑house wood‑fired pizza and Caesar salad stations, accompanied by passed hors d’Oeuvres. A selection of both meat and vegetarian options will be available for the pizza and hors d’Oeuvres. Later in the evening, chicken fingers and fries will be served as a late‑night snack during the dance. A full‑service bar will also be available, offering a variety of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages.
