Our Story!

“What sector are you in?” were the first words Hattie spoke to Jonathan during their summer internship in 2024. While both of them were thinking their summer at Corgan would provide purely professional development, they got so much more. In May 2024, Jonathan and Hattie started their summer internship, and at orientation, Jonathan noticed a very beautiful girl, in fact, the most beautiful girl in the world, sitting in the room with him. Naturally, he didn’t say a word to her. 2 months went by, and in July, they had an intern site visit together. Jonathan saw her again and prayed, “Lord, if it’s possible, I’d like to go on a date with that woman.” As they were returning their safety vests, Hattie struck up a conversation with Jonathan. They talked about Jonathan’s graduate school plans, and Hattie’s plans to never work a day in her life and get married to a blonde-haired, blue-eyed man who loves Jesus. Jonathan, along with encouragement from his friend Josh, decided to intervene. He decided he was going to ask her out that same Friday, just a few days later. When Friday came, he got to work and opened his laptop to a Microsoft Teams message from Hattie. She had invited him to a “intern lunch” planned entirely so she could talk to Jonathan. So Jonathan waited through the weekend. After his brother Jeremy’s bachelor party that weekend, Monday came, and the lunch went great, so Jonathan asked her out after work that day. Hattie originally said, “Sure, I wanna go on the date, but I don’t know when I’ll be free.”Jonathan thought she was letting him down easy, so he said, “You don’t have to go on a date with me if you don’t want to, Hattie,” but she insisted that she did indeed want to go on the date. Jonathan left this encounter and went to scrub the toilet at his brother‘s house in his new apartment, and Hattie went home, where her dad found out that Jonathan loved Jesus. He told Hattie regarding the date, “You’re going.” The next week, they went to a Texas Rangers game and had the time of their lives. That night, they rolled down a hill, shared many laughs, and also shared many secrets. Upon leaving the date, Jonathan texted a few of his friends, saying she’s either going to be the love of his life or absolutely break his heart. Hattie and Jonathan started dating long-distance during their senior year of college, with Jonathan at Texas A&M University and Hattie at Texas Tech University. They made every effort to see one another as often as possible, and by October, they both knew they wanted to marry each other. A few more months of long distance, and one thing led to another. Jonathan and Hattie got engaged on April 19, 2025, and are getting married on March 8, 2026! Praise Jesus!
