Where's the nearest airport?

Answer

Edinburgh is the closest airport. Approx 40mins to 1 hour from Glenrothes via taxi or train. Glasgow is an option but is another hour away from Glenrothes.

Where can we stay apart from Balbirnie?

Answer

There are hotels in Glenrothes including a Travelodge and Premier Inn. In Kirkcaldy, which is around 15mins away by taxi, there are The Victoria Hotel (where a lot of Helen's family will be staying) and The Strathern Hotel amongst others. There are also a number of Air BnB's in Glenrothes and the village of Markinch.
