At the start of a busy but isolated year, Sophie reached out to Andrew via school email, and after a few friendly exchanges, he suggested they carpool since they lived nearby. That’s when Sophie first saw the blue Mini Cooper—and her heart was set after hearing Andrew sing along to “Dancing Queen” during a morning commute. During the ever-changing climate of the pandemic, they spent much of their time outdoors as a safe way to get to know each other. Cross-country skiing, walks at Shelburne Farms, and cold water plunges quickly became their favorite activities. Over the next year, they met one another’s friends and family and built a strong foundation. After many adventures along the shores of Lake Champlain and beyond, Andrew (finally) shared his feelings. On September 19, 2021, their relationship became official, a date they will share with their wedding anniversary.
