To set the scene, it is the day after Kippy’s 21st birthday. As she is relaxing on her friend’s couch, recounting the events from the night before, in charges Hatch and his friends in attempts to rally the Georgetown girls to venture out again that evening. At this point, Kippy did not know much about Hatch, but was intrigued by his enthusiasm (he did barge in with cocktails in tow!). The attraction was immediate as Kippy and her friends headed out with the Navy boys. After a few hours, Hatch and a few of his friends wanted a change of scenery and decided to head to a different establishment, but in hopes of strategically playing “hard to get” (Ha!) Kipp decided to stay back (at Rhino Bar… RIP!) and continue the night with her girlfriends. After a bit of convincing, the groups eventually reunited and as they say, the rest was history. It turns out, Hatch knew something special had occurred that fateful night in February. Months later after Kipp and Hatch were inseparable, one of Hatch’s friends revealed a text Hatch sent that first night – “tell Kippy I’m going to marry her”. And now here we are today!
Hatch and Kippy headed up to Hilton Head to celebrate Father's day with Kippy's dad when Hatch slyly popped the question. Kippy aloof to her surroundings and going about the day normally, she didn't think much of Hatch suggesting they go train Buster on the beach. While Kipp was throwing the ball for Buster in the water, Hatch had gotten down on one knee, and basically blacked out. Neither of Kipp or Hatch remember what was said over all of the excitement and love. Kippy still aloof in all the excitement, she was shocked beyond belief to see that all of their family and friends were back at the house ready to celebrate the engagement. It was the most wonderful, exciting, and loving day for Hatch and Kippy, and it wouldn't have been possible without all the love from family and friends.
