Our Story
OUR STORY
Our story began in 2023, thanks to a well-timed swipe that brought two people together from different parts of Minnesota: Austin from the Iron Range and Katie from the Twin Cities. By chance, we were both visiting Bentleyville in Duluth with friends.
Austin, who was living in St. Peter at the time, drove over an hour to take Katie to Can Can Wonderland for their first date. His mini golf skills impressed her enough that the night continued at Lake Monster Brewing until the lights shut off.
After our first date, we spent a few days apart celebrating Christmas with our families and quickly decided that was the longest we ever wanted to be away from each other again.
Fast forward to July 30, 2025, when we went on a whale watching tour in Freeport, Maine. During the trip, Austin dropped to one knee and barely got out the words, “Soo… will you?” Katie (of course) said yes, and suddenly seeing a whale was the last thing on our minds.
