Adam and Cait met one another at Hedges-Boyer Park, which is located about only about 1.4 miles from the campus of Heidelberg University, but let us tell you, it felt like 104 miles away, since the temperature was frigid. Cait's two best friends, Bethany, Mitchell, and her ventured to the park, because Mitchell told the girls it was a "short-cut," but they ended up meeting up with Adam. The four of them explored their favorite city of downtown Tiffin, OH. Adam put up with Cait's shenanigans all night (i.e. requesting songs with the DJ, dancing like a fool on the dance floor, running away from her friends inside the bar because she didn't want to leave the fun, and going to G-dubs for macaroni and cheese bites) and continued to put up with her shenanigans for the next six years.
Adam came to Ohio after returning from deployment, and he had planned this double date dinner on Saturday with a couple Cait was not completely fond of. The night before they had went out in Cleveland, OH with some of Cait's friends and to say Cait was not "feeling it" Saturday morning after Cleveland, would be an understatement. She sucked it up, because she knew Adam wanted to see his friends and she drove them all the way to Tiffin. Adam wanted to take a walk down memory lane and go to the park where he had first met Cait. There was snow on the ground and Cait was wearing jeans with holes in the knees and freezing. Adam started to fumble in his pocket and dropped down to one knee. Cait screamed "YES! GET UP IT'S FREEZING!!" before he could even get the words out "Will you marry me?"
