We're Getting Married!

A true NYC love story, we met through a mutual friend who we both met in college. Harumi in Boston and Khris 200 miles away in New York when that friend transferred to NYU. Crazy right?! Fast forward 4 years, Harumi was living in Washington Heights and as fate would have it, that same mutual friend was dating her roommate and brought Khris to their apartment to hang out. Over time Khris and Harumi sparked a friendship. One night out at Bar/None in Union square, Khris took his shot and made a joke to the table, as he laughed he placed his hand (respectfully) on Harumi's knee. When the joke landed and the conversation went back to normal....Khris' hand stayed. Smooth one Khris! One week later they were on their first date in Dumbo Brooklyn. After their first date they saw each other everyday after work for a coffee, a bite to eat or walk downtown to explore the city. 9 years later, the feel of Fall air and Pumpkin Spice latte's reminds them of those early days when they first started falling in love. Thank goodness for Khris' smooth moves!

8 months before the proposal Khris started designing Harumi's dream engagement ring. Harumi had "nonchalantly" been showing him ring that she liked, unbeknownst to her he had taken note of the small details and designed them into her dream ring. His plan.. to propose in Vegas on her 30th birthday in March. Queue COVID lockdowns. The world shut down and production was delayed until September. Luckily, our anniversary was right around the corner. On our 7 year anniversary, Khris planned a whale watching tour in Cape May. Harumi thrilled to watch whales had no idea what he had in store for her. Toward the end of the tour, Khris asked one of the crew member to take the iconic 'Titanic' photo on the bow of the boat. The entire ship crew was in on his whole plan and instead of taking a photo captured the proposal on video. After the "picture" was taken, Harumi turned around to find Khris on one knee, popping the questions. Without a second to spare she said "YES"! They spent the remainder of the day, toasting with champagne and galavanting around Cape May in complete engagement bliss.
