Ben's version: It was the fall of my sophomore year at Washington State University. There were about 10 of us guys on the baseball team sitting in our first day of Geology class in an amphitheater-like lecture hall, with about 200 other students. We were all catching up before class had started when out of the corner of my eye walking down the stairs struts this tall, tan, beautiful woman. I had never seen anything like her; I watched her until she picked out a seat next to her friend, about 10 rows below us. I asked my friends if anyone knew who she was, and nobody did. So, being the idiots that we were, we decided to take it upon ourselves to figure out her name… by shouting out random names before and after class. If you didn’t know this already, there are a lot of names out there... so we hooted and hollered for three days a week for about three weeks until a very special day arrived. My roommate at the time, Ian, Googled “Top 10 Girl Names” and we proceeded to make our way down the list. We got down to number eight and Ian told me to try Madison. So without any hesitation, and absolutely no hope at all, I shouted “Hey, Maddie… Madison!” From way down below, that brown hair flipped around as she looked up behind her, we finally guessed it! My buddies instantly went completely insane as I sat there wide-eyed with my hands over my mouth. So, naturally we headed straight to the class roster and lucky me, there was only one Madison on there. One thing led to another and apparently she was in the same sorority as a couple of our other girl friends. With me being terrified to even speak to her I figured it was easier to randomly send her a text message. You might think that this was a questionable decision on my part to go about it this way, but I might argue with you that it worked out pretty dang good. So, I convinced her to sit by me the next day, and the rest is history. Boy, do I love that girl. Madison's version: You'll have to wait for the wedding!
