I had just finished my school week when my friend, Kaela mentioned a bonfire party in Idaho that we just HAD to go to. We had taken frequent trips to Idaho before, and I absolutely loved it there! The stars shined brighter than they did in Salt Lake City. It was just beautiful there. I couldn't wait to spend my two day weekend under those stars and playing around in the Idaho dirt... Little did I know, my soon to be sweetheart was going to the same party. Brandon's friend, Blake, had invited him on a blind date with some girl from Utah. He was also looking forward to letting loose with some friends for the weekend, and the possibility of meeting a cute girl was a nice bonus. Like I said, I had no idea of the plans. Sure enough, we met at the party and have been inseparable ever since. Neither of us expected to find anything, and then ended up with the best thing.
We met while we were both in the middle of schooling. He was two years into his four year electrical apprenticeship, and I was half way through cosmetology school with plans of additional education that would end up taking another two years. On average, we ended up seeing each other 4-6 days A MONTH. It definitely had its challenges, but there was no one else that we would rather be with, and it made the times that we did get to spend together, that much more exciting. Finally, after years of three hour long drives, nightly video chats, and teary eyed goodbyes (because the trips always went by so dang fast,) we completed our schooling and I could finally move to Idaho and we could date like a REAL couple!
It was so much fun being able to finally see each other often and go on regular dates! We started going on regular adventures with our geocache app and exploring every trail we could find in Southern Idaho. We would be together until dusk, when it was time to say goodnight and go to our own homes. As exciting as it was to finally be together, we found it becoming increasingly difficult to even spend the nights apart. We decided it was time to move in together and combine our lives. Our home started becoming complete, but there was just one thing missing...
We had talked and talked about adding a waggy tailed, drooly faced fur baby into our lives, but anytime we seemed to have found our pup, something would happen and it ended up not working out. (Didn't like cats, previous owners came to claim, etc..) One day we decided to go to the shelter again, and just walk around. After a time of talking to and petting each adorable face, I hear Brandon call to me. "Babe, you need to see this." I come over and what do I see, but this adorable pup staring at us silently and pushing himself as hard as he could into the fence separating us, just longing for loves and pets. We knew INSTANTLY that this was our dog. He has been the best addition to our home and we couldn't imagine it any other way. WE LOVE YOU DASHY BOY!!
We went to the family cabin in Stanley for a winter get away with my family, full of snowmobile fun and homemade pizza! Little did Jintelle know, an hour before we took off towards the mountains, i snuck over to the jeweler as soon as they finished the ring, only looking at it for a minute or so and immediatly going back to the house to finish packing. We made it to the cabin and finally started our very memorable vacation! That very next day we headed to the hills snowmobilling all day, slowly but surley getting closer and closer to the very same spot we came a year prior in the summer. It was a giant lake on top of some mountains named Yellow Belley Lake. We sat on big fallen tree where your feet can dangle as you look out at the clear blue water. In that moment, Jintelle mentioned this would be the perfect spot to get engaged, just being silly! Well we finally made it to that frozen lake with snow covered tress as far as the eye can see. We made a fire and cooked some brats while we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Eventually, Jintelle and i started exploring again and made it over to that same log with the look out, except it was a giant mound of snow. So we sat down and and watched the clouds roll by and i started to realize that everyone was in position for pictures and it was game time. I stood up, turned around, had way too big of a smile on. Walked behind her, took the biggest breath of my life, and i walked back and got down on my knee. I asked the love of my life to marry me, and she said YES! I can not wait for all the adventures ahead in our future.
