On New Years Eve 2023, Jessica tried a popular NYE tradition said to manifest finding love- eating 12 grapes under a table at midnight for good luck in the new year. That same week, Justin downloaded a dating app after some encouragement from his best friend, who joked Justin was his "last chance at being a best man." The two matched and met for their first date at Chickie's and Pete's on January 9, 2024. Unfortunately, a state of emergency storm had knocked the power out, forcing them to leave the restaurant and cut the date short. Two days after their first date, the two were eager to see each other again but wanted to keep things simple (as they both just worked a 12hr shift). Jessica made a joke that they should go to Wawa, play scratch offs and drink milkshakes for their second date. Justin loved the idea, and so they did just that. That night, they spent hours talking about (literallyyy) everything inside Wawa's parking lot and have been inseparable ever since. On Christmas Eve 2025- Surrounded by Jessica's family, Justin got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The two are so excited for this next chapter to forever and can't wait to celebrate with everyone on September 25, 2026! I guess eating grapes under the table worked :)
