Logan was ready to move back to Pittsburgh, PA from Charlotte, NC when the principal at her school, Mandi Campbell, introduced her to Shaun. Shaun is a lifelong friend of Mandi's husband, Paul Campbell and he was actually a groomsmen in their wedding.
Shaun invited Logan to dinner on a Thursday evening, after work, in Kannapolis, NC. Logan met Shaun in front of the historic GEM Theatre, downtown Kannapolis. The restaurant Shaun wanted to take Logan to was not going to be open for another two hours so Shaun asked Logan if she wanted to play football or frisbee in the quad nearby. Logan told Shaun she could not throw a frisbee so she would like to toss a football around instead, but Shaun insisted on playing frisbee. Then they went for a walk around downtown Kannapolis and proceeded to share Prosecco and a delicious dinner at FortySix. After some persuasion, Logan followed Shaun into the GEM Theatre where they snuck into a viewing of the new Fast and Furious movie.
It was Christmas morning in New Wilmington, PA and not a creature was stirring -- except Shaun Barrier. Shaun wanted to go for a walk since it was snowing and this was his first white Christmas on the East Coast. Everyone else in the house was still asleep so Logan agreed to take Pancho out for a walk with Shaun. They walked around the farm while Shaun was taking photos of the two of them in the snow, repeatedly saying how much he loved Logan and how much she meant to him. They were headed down to the pond when the wind really picked up, so Shaun suggested they just stay up by the house. The couple rounded the corner of the pool house and Shaun dropped to one knee and said, "will you marry me?" Logan, being a hard-head, thought Shaun was joking so she kept on walking saying, "shut up Shaun, stop messing around." But when she realized Shaun was not getting back up to follow her she turned around to see him holding the ring with a baffled look on his face. Logan, of course, said yes!
Logan's engagement ring is a family heirloom. The solitaire, marquise diamond is the original stone that her father, Dallas Hartman, gave to her mother, Kristina Hartman, in 1988 when he proposed in Lancaster, PA.
