Like all great modern romances, ours began with a swipe—specifically, Melanie liking Kyle’s Hinge profile. The spark? A mutual appreciation for mozzarella sticks without marinara sauce. Melanie was swiping out of pure boredom, sending short replies like a true skeptic, while Kyle was driving across the country with his older brother, figuring, “Why not?” Somehow, between the dry texts and the road trip, something clicked. After a few weeks of chatting, we met for our first date at Robinhood Brewery. It was casual, fun, and something just felt easy.
