We were like two ships passing in the night for most of our lives. We grew up somewhat nearby, shared common friends, and had similar passions, but never once did we interact. We figure that we must have played basketball as children at the Gurdwara at the same time and waited in the same lines at numerous Punjabi events, but we never spoke to each other until that one serendipitous night. Deep was invited last minute to a party. He walked in―late as usual―and introduced himself to everyone, including Harshy. We didn’t talk instantly, but eventually the party walked to another bar and we spoke one on one. We both instantly knew and thought it was too good to be true. We walked and talked for the rest of the night, exchanged numbers, and Deep asked Harshy to coffee the next week. On Tuesday, we met for coffee. The conversation started around 3:30 P.M. but the coffee shop closed at 6:00 P.M. We were so lost in conversation and felt such a connection that we got pizza next door to continue. We didn’t say goodbye until 9:30 P.M. when the pizza place closed. We had a conversation for over 6 hours, and although we had just met, we both knew that this was something special. On Thursday, Deep took Harshy on a date, starting with watching the Sunset over the Rockies from Peak’s Lounge and concluding with a romantic dinner in Larimer Square. Since that day, we’ve been officially head over heels and all of our friends can testify that we’ve been nearly inseparable. Since we’ve met, we’ve switched careers (#LawSchoolLife) and traveled coast to coast. We’re so incredibly excited for this next chapter in our lives and are so grateful to have you as a part of it.
