This fort is named after "Old Fuss and Feathers" General Winfield Scott. This is the jewel of the town, the creme da la creme, cream of the crop, the pick of the litter, if this doesn't tickle your fancy you are out of luck! Get in touch with the historical curiosity deep, deep inside of you. It's usually open to visitors and very convenient, located downtown.
For the city slickers looking for the true down-home experience, pull on those boots, tack on those spurs and check out the livestock sale barn! For those purchasing, cows can be transported; please reach out to Lee's brother-in-law for additional information. Open Friday and Saturday starting at 10am. Vegetarians and PETA activists beware.
If you're feeling the need for some culture, check out the Gordon Parks Center, a museum dedicated to the works of the photographer Gordon Parks. Yes, the same Gordon Parks who pioneered "blaxploitation" cinema by pioneering classics like 1971's "Shaft" and who was born right here in Fort Scott!
