Jasmine and Jeff’s story began long before either of them realized it would lead to forever. They first met in sixth grade and even “dated” for a few months before life took them in different directions. For more than 20 years, they didn’t see or speak to each other — until one day Jeff appeared as a suggested friend online. Jasmine reached out to say hello, and just like that, they began catching up on the years they had missed. As they reconnected, they discovered they shared something deeply meaningful: their faith. While navigating long distance, they began doing weekly Bible studies together over the phone. During that time, Jasmine saw the kind of man Jeff was — grounded in the Lord and always striving to grow. She knew she had found someone she could feel safe with, someone who shared her foundation. On Jasmine’s first visit to West Virginia, Jeff took her to a karaoke night. Nervous to sing, she agreed after Jeff promised he would sing too. When Jasmine got up to perform “Rude,” the crowd stayed quiet — but Jeff didn’t. He cheered her on and even told the table in front of them, “Y’all better sing along with my baby.” What could have been an awkward moment turned into one of Jasmine’s favorite memories. On Christmas 2024, at Jasmine’s grandparents’ house, Jeff planned a surprise she would never forget. He handed her a box with a photo of him holding a wedding garter from his brother’s wedding. Confused, she turned around — and there he was on one knee asking her to marry him. Of course, she said yes. What started as a childhood connection has grown into a love rooted in faith, laughter, and purpose. Now they can’t wait to begin their next chapter together as husband and wife.
