It all began in (not so) Big Rapids, MI at Ferris State University. It was early in the first semester of school, when friendships were beginning to form and the harsh winters of Northern Michigan had yet to set in. We met through mutual friends and struck up a conversation while walking from one house party to the next. We bonded over our roots in Southern Michigan and our love for hip hop music.

We spent the holidays with Sarah's sister and her family in Virginia. After a Christmas Eve filled with site seeing and an Italian dinner in D.C., we all settled in to a relaxing night at the house. Little did Sarah know, a few weeks prior Matt had asked Sarah's sister, Liz, for permission to propose. As is tradition, everyone is allowed one present on Christmas Eve. What Sarah thought was a pair of Christmas pajamas ended up being a lifetime of sleeping next to a snoring man.
