Longwood Gardens (~5 mins away) One of the world's premier botanical gardens. 1,000 acres of indoor conservatories, outdoor fountain displays, and beautifully manicured grounds. We highly recommend booking timed tickets online well in advance! Brandywine Museum of Art (~4 mins away) Housed in a converted 19th-century gristmill right on the river, this museum holds an unparalleled collection of works by the Wyeth family (N.C., Andrew, and Jamie), alongside a premier collection of American illustration. We would also recommend visiting any of the other DuPont estates (in addition to Longwood) including, Nemours, Hagley, and Winterthur. The Delaware Art Museum is also a short drive from St. Patrick Church and contains, among other notable works, the famed pirate illustrations, by Delaware native and "The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood" author, Howard Pyle.
