This is the closest airport to us (~40 minutes from Blacksburg)! Sam finds it reliable with straight forward parking and short wait times.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport

Charlotte is large and typically crowded. Make sure you have enough time in between your connecting flights, (an hour might be too short as they typically take awhile to deboard). Sam and Harrison prefer to fly in and out of Charlotte rather than go from Charlotte to Roanoke to home. Charlotte is a little of 2.5 hours from Blacksburg, VA.

Pitch a Tent

Channel your hobbit and camp on the beautiful Sinking Creek that snakes through Newport, VA. The venue is accessible Thursday-Sunday morning to camp. We plan on keeping the celebration going late Saturday night so if you don’t think you’ll be able to drive home pitching a tent might be a good idea. It’s obviously free and the bathrooms under the main pavilion are always open.
