Bride
Neha, the radiant bride, not only boasts a discerning taste for fine ramen, but also shines brightly in the realm of technology. Armed with a PhD in Computer Science, she works as a skilled software engineer. Amidst her technological ventures, she finds joy in the simple pleasure of cooking, especially for Harrison, her soon-to-be husband. An enthusiast of the outdoors, Neha loves hiking through nature's trails and also enjoys the serene beauty of beaches. Her multifaceted personality makes her not just an accomplished professional but also a vibrant, life-loving individual.
Groom
Harrison, the dapper groom, often jests that he's a professional video game player. But in reality, he wields his expertise as a skilled patent attorney at a prestigious law firm, Harrison also possesses a refined palate, being a connoisseur of fine wines. Significantly, he's been a steadfast supporter of Neha during her challenging PhD journey. He's also committed to giving back, actively participating in pro bono work through his law firm. Embracing his love for the classics, Harrison has a knack for channelling his inner Frank Sinatra during special occasions, bringing a touch of timeless charm and charisma to every celebration.
Bridesmaid
Fatima, one of the cherished bridesmaids, holds a special place in the wedding as Neha's closest friend and former roommate. Their friendship, extending over eight delightful years, is built on countless shared experiences and deep mutual understanding. The two have woven a tapestry of memories, creating an unbreakable bond, making Fatima an irreplaceable part of Neha's life and an integral figure in the wedding celebrations.
Groomsman
Nikhil, Neha's brother and one of the groomsmen, is much more than just a sibling to Neha; he's a pillar in her life. Always there to cheer her on through every academic achievement and personal milestone, Nikhil's support has been unwavering. Since Neha's engagement, he and Harrison have developed a strong, joyful bond, quickly progressing from brothers-in-law to real brothers. Nikhil regularly checks in with Harrison, sharing updates and ensuring his well-being, genuinely caring for him as true family.
Bridesmaid
Rahmeh, a treasured bridesmaid and one of Neha's dearest friends, is considered by Neha to be more like family than a friend. Their journey of over eight years began at Boston University (BU), where they instantly connected. Together, they've created a treasure trove of memories, from exciting trips to cozy brunch dates. Neha even shares a special bond with Rahmeh's family, making her feel at home, especially as Neha's family is back in India. Rahmeh's warmth and companionship have always given Neha a sense of familial comfort.
Officiant
Jonathan (though he prefers "Jon") is a Groomsman, the older brother to Harrison, and the unlicensed, uncertified, but absolutely qualified officiant of the wedding. Jonathan is an emergency room doctor and Air Force Captain, but he also has a history of standup comedy, which has prepared him more than anything else for officiating this Jew-ish wedding. Does he have what it takes to run a ceremony? Will he parachute down to the altar as his grand entrance? Will he have to perform CPR on any of the guests? All these questions and more will be answered come May.
Bridesmaid
Abby, affectionately shortened from Abigail, is a bridesmaid and a relatively new yet dear addition to Neha's circle of friends. Their bond, forged over just a few years, strengthened through shared trips and enjoyable times spent together. Neha feels a deep connection with Abby, as if they've known each other for ages. Known for her kind-heartedness and warmth, Abby stands as a cherished and lovely friend in Neha's life.
Groomsman
Noah is one of Harrison's oldest friends, former classmates, camp bunkmates, and now groomsman. From before they were old enough to speak to the present day, Noah and Harrison have consistently come together for many adventures (and one or two misdemeanors) through the years, sharing a love of heavy metal music and things that go vroom.
Bridesmaid
Ilana is Harrison's younger and logistically superior sister and Bridesmaid to Neha. Through the years, Ilana and Harrison have learned to lean on each other when times get tough, benefitting from each other's vastly different areas of expertise. Today, between medical school and the army sending her around the country, Ilana still makes room for quality time to see her brother and his fiancee.
Bridesmaid
Thejasa, another bridesmaid, is among Neha's closest friends and a former short-term roommate. Their friendship, blossoming a few years ago, is rich with shared memories and a special mutual affection. Despite Thejasa moving first out of state and then abroad, their bond remains unchanged. Distance has never dimmed their closeness; it's as if Thejasa has always been there for Neha, a testament to the strength and resilience of their friendship
Mother of the Groom
Marjory is the person who made Harrison the person he is today, both figuratively and literally. She raised a very stubborn and picky-eating child through some of the most difficult times in each of their lives. Despite the challenges they faced, Marjory made sure Harrison knew how privileged and fortunate he was, instilling in him the importance of taking care of others and contributing to the community, as reflected in Marjory's consistent volunteer work at the synagogue and at the college where she works. Marjory and Neha have also grown together since meeting a short few years ago, and are now regularly seen sharing vegetarian meals when out at dinner.
Mother of the Bride
Rita, Neha's mother, epitomizes unconditional love and support. Rita's support was a constant during Neha's toughest times, be it while grappling with her PhD challenges or navigating the ups and downs of life. To Neha, Rita is more than just a mother; she's an embodiment of strength and nurturing, always placing her daughter's needs and dreams above all. Rita has also been very patient with Harrison when they speak over WhatsApp calls, as वह हिंदी सीख रहा है (he is learning Hindi), even though वह आठ साल के बच्चे के समान बोलता है (he speaks like an 8 year old child).
