Story I ⭐️

(Please skip if you are allergic to goosebumps.)

I remember that night, I just might replay that night for the rest of my days. I remember the board game light, Schotten Totten, and the way he played. I remember that little smile, like he knew he had something to prove. But Harrison, I’ll never forget the first time I saw your face. I have never seen the same, intelligent eyes in a soft-cat frame. And when he said “Hi,” I forget we were in a game. Set my heart aflame, every part aflame. This is not a game. “You seemed like someone with nothing to hide.” “I’m sure I don’t know what you mean, but I stayed by your side.” “You’re so shy, but with a quiet delight.” “Is that right? A quiet delight.” The conversation lasted two minutes, maybe three minutes—every word felt like we meant it. It’s a game, and it’s a bit of a dance, a bit of a shuffle, a bit of a chance. He’s a little bit shy, but I gave it a chance. He asked about another game—did you see the answer? My smile started spreading, he looked with candor. He’s thoughtful, and somehow a quiet romancer. Handsome—boy, does he know it. Soft smile, and he doesn’t need to show it. I want to take him far away from this place. Then I pause and see my own face, and I am… helpless. And I know he is… helpless. Our eyes are just—helpless. Two years passed, and I realize… three fundamental truths at the exact same time. Number one: He’s the kind of person who makes things feel whole. Whether we’re playing or planning or chasing a goal, he listens, he laughs, he always shows up. I’m a storm inside, but he shields me from rough. Number two: We fell in love through musicals and flights—Les Mis tears and Seattle nights. We’ve seen nine shows and a thousand skies, and I still catch my breath when he smiles. Number three: A week apart made the answer clear. He came back from Ohio and pulled me near. No speech—just a postcard, a ring in his hand, stuffed friends watching, like they’d all planned. And now we’re here, and I stand by his side. Already married, but this day is our pride—to celebrate love with the ones we adore, the people who’ve shaped us, who mean even more. “To the groom!” “To the bride!” “I’m lucky to have his eyes in my life.” (Miranda, 2015)

Story II 🎪

Summer light, green dress flowing, at the Punch Bowl, not knowing. One look, skies wide open—she laughed, and time stopped going. From that spark to afternoon games, she smiled, I forgot my name. She won, I didn’t mind—her laugh was worth the climb.
Hand in my hand at the late-night show, one kiss and the story grows.
Some walk a tightrope all on their own, but she’s my balance, my steady home. Leaning close, wishing on stars above. She made me smile, I fell in love. Now every morning, eyes I see—the one who dreams this dream with me.
We just begun — with her, life’s the sweetest run.
Dark sky, soft vow spoken, “I love you”—the moment golden. She held it 'til the credits rolled. Then gave her heart, brave and bold. Train rides west, skies turned blue - nothing beat that mountain view. But still, her smile outshined it all—grace in every rise and fall.
Every tear and every cheer, she’s the voice I always hear.
Some walk a tightrope, scared to fall. But she’s the calm that steadies it all. Side by side, laughing through the days, her love, my constant, in every way. Now every morning, it’s plain to see—she’s the dream that walks with me. Yeah, we just begun—with her, life’s the sweetest run.
This ain’t just rings or vows we make, it’s the light that never breaks. She’s the rhythm in my song, she’s been the one all along.
With Yu—yu, yu, yu—xiao
(Yeah, she’s my solid ground)
Some walk a tightrope, feelin’ fear. But we just dance and I draw her near. Stars above and friends around, we lift our love from solid ground. Forever starts with her and me— in her arms, I’m finally free. With Yuxiao, I’ve found my heart, my home, my solid ground. (Williams, 2017) Thanks for reading and good job surviving!!
