Our Story

Amy and Jon first crossed paths at Sacramento State where they became good friends. After spending a lot of time together, Jon asked Amy to be his girlfriend, to which Amy replied "yes!". After graduating college, Amy and Jon moved in together and expanded their family with two puppies, Ren and Copper. Amy and Jon spent the next few years, bonding, working, and building their life together. Their relationship grew over their shared experiences of traveling the world! First they explored Ireland, where they experienced the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher. Little did they know, that this would inspire them in the future to get married on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. They then went on to South America, where they visited Amy's parents in Ecuador and eventually made their way to the far north in Iceland. Six years later, the two continue to pursue their careers, as well as each other. Amy went on to get her Master's in Accountancy while Jon became a teacher. They are excited to be married, and hope to continue their love story, where it began, in Sacramento, CA.

How He Proposed!

January 25, 2021

January 25th was Amy and Jon's 6th year anniversary. Jon had known that he wanted to propose to Amy for a few months, but wasn't quite sure how he wanted to pop the question. He had ordered the ring a few weeks prior, but it arrived ahead of schedule unexpectedly on their anniversary. They were spending their night relaxing and eating dinner, when they decided to watch the movie Dead Poet's Society (one of Amy's favorite movies). One of the movie's central theme is the idea of "Carpe Diem' (or seize the day). This inspired Jon to "seize the day" and finally pop the question. Jon then took Amy on a trip down memory lane and they walked around the Sacramento State campus with their dogs. Underneath a flower-covered archway, Jon got down on one knee and asked Amy to be his wife, to which Amy replied "of course!"
