Matron of Honor
Harris's older sister, Elizabeth, has always been the witty one of the family. Winning Googe v. Googe arguments at the dinner table served her well on her path to a career practicing law in Atlanta, GA, where she now sets an impressive example for her daughter, Alden. As children, Harris & Elizabeth spent many hours playing with American Girl Dolls, dress-up as Vet & Assistant (guess who was who), Teacher & Student (again, guess who was the teacher), and with a sticker book where Elizabeth rationed Harris to one sticker a day. She always served as Harris's fashion police & inspo, and is the first person Harris goes to for advice. She'll be standing by Harris's side as Matron of Honor, as there's nobody else more perfect for the role.
Matron of Honor
Harris first met Ashley 18 years ago when Ashley came to visit the Googe family in Knoxville as Matt's new girlfriend. As a self-described (at the time) black sheep of the family, Harris was happy to have another outsider at the dinner table, and ever since has bonded with Ashley over discussions of music and enneagram types. Ashley and Harris share a firm belief that octopuses are actually aliens, and that Gen Z fashion can indeed be adopted by Millennials. A newly minted Yoga instructor, Ashley will bring her sense of calmness as she stands by Harris as Matron of Honor on her wedding day.
Best Man
The best man and the groom's older and very patient brother, especially when they played videogames together. Finding his calling early on, he followed the dad's legacy into Medicine in Brazil. He also gave Tulio the gift of having a niece named Helena and had a heavy hand in shaping Tulio's passion for racing and his taste in music.
Groomsman
The bride's brother and father of three boys. Since Matt and Tulio share passion for finding good deals online for classic cars, Tulio is always trying to help pass on the gearhead bug to his nephews.
Bridesmaid
Having grown up together at Studio Arts for Dancers, Harris, Elizabeth & Rebecca go way back to a time where they spent 7 days/week training together. Nothing brings teenagers together like time spent backstage in a theater, and Harris, Elizabeth and Rebecca all remain close friends to this day, even spread out across the country. In their 20s, Elizabeth and Harris found themselves moving to Portland a week apart from each other. Over the next 2 years, they spent almost every weekend adventuring in the Oregon outdoors together, with Harris frequently third-wheeling Liz & Evans. Now, as one of Harris's go to for random thought texts and dog photos, Elizabeth continues to inspire Harris's adventures, and is embarking on her own as a new mom due late June!
Bridesmaid
Harris met Nicole on her first day of work at The North Face when looking for someone to sit with for lunch. Nicole's warmth and welcoming on that day was just the beginning of what was to come - Nicole soon became Harris's go-to adventure buddy in California and now Colorado, always eager to plan the next big thing together and always bringing her patented enthusiasm to everything she does. Nicole serves as Harris's home-design inspo, with her own meticulous style, and is Harris's go-to for fashion advice. After seeing Harris at her worst (terrified on a MTB and super hangry on a very cold morning), Nicole will continue to have her back as a Bridesmaid for the wedding.
Groomsman
Shared an apartment with Tulio while they lived in Sao Paulo and worked for the same company. Having moved to the US for his MBA a year earlier than Tulio, Paulo was key in helping Tulio get into Berkeley with wise advice. Now living in Boston, you can find them talking about living in a new country and the stock market.
Groomsman
Living at a walking distance from Tulio's first home in Sao Paulo, Gustavo often helped the group get to know the city, be it a new bar or a music concert. Having raced karts professionally at a young age, he and Tulio only competed once, and it wasn't close.
Bridesmaid
Harris met Lauren her first night living in Denver right after graduating college. As a fellow UNC alum working in consulting, Lauren was a lifeline for Harris in a city where she knew nobody else and only spent 3 days/week. They quickly became close friends, spending weekends making friends at the ski resorts, attending shows at Red Rocks, or trying out all of the greatest coffee shops in Denver. Lauren has always helped Harris with living in the present, introducing her to Sleepy Time Tea (still a favorite) and some amazing books over the years, and will help keep Harris grounded on her wedding day as her Bridesmaid.
Bridesmaid
More sisters than cousins, Harris & Margaret grew up 10 minutes away from each other in Knoxville, but frequently shared a bed whenever they stayed with their grandparents, Betty & Joe. 8 months older, Harris always looked up to her little cousin (literally & figuratively), and the two have remained close friends to this day, sharing a love for hiking and good beer. Margaret's a middle-school teacher in Knoxville, and one of the funniest people Harris knows. Harris is currently trying to convince her to start a TikTok with stories about students' parents, so hopefully when she's done with her Bridesmaid duties, she'll be sharing her wit with the world.
Groomsman
Also part of the apartment gang, Leonardo always brought the Economist's perspective to the group's endless discussions about business and politics. As a triathlete, he's the one that motivated Tulio to improve his running.
Groomsman
Shared an apartment with Tulio for two distinct periods, including right before Tulio's move to California. Aside from going to the gym together, they have so little in common that even they wonder how they became and stayed friends over time.
Bridesmaid
Rebecca is one of Harris's oldest friends, all the way back to the days of 1st grade when they stole Rebecca's sister's Scream VHS and watched it together. With Elizabeth, they spent 7 days/week together in high school as part of the same dance company, and bonded over Waffle House on the nights before big shows. Rebecca and Harris also went to high school together, traveling together to NYC (where Rebecca now lives) as art students. Rebecca has also always been a huge influence on the music Harris listens to, getting her out of the emo music Rebecca hated, and more on the path towards indie/folk/bluegrass which she still loves today. Rebecca recently welcomed a new addition to her family with the arrival of Baby Lennon in May, who Harris can't wait to meet in Napa!
