Like so many modern romances, ours began with a swipe—but it didn’t take long to realize this was something different. We matched on Facebook Dating, and of course, Tatiana messaged first. Soon after, we added each other on Snapchat, where Preet’s endless gym posts had Tatiana thinking, “Who is this guy?” She thought he might be a little full of himself—but he was cute, so she kept replying. One late-night phone call changed everything. What was supposed to be a quick chat turned into three hours of nonstop laughter and conversation. By the time we hung up at 1 a.m., we both knew: this was it. From that very first call, we saved each other’s contact names as “Husband” and “Wife”—and they’ve stayed that way ever since. Our first date was just as unforgettable. Tatiana tried Indian food for the first time (and loved it!), while we both started to realize just how natural and easy being together felt. A year later, we moved in together, and soon after, we bought our first home. After a year and a half of dating, Preet proposed—nervously, sweetly, and with the help of Tatiana’s mom and sister. It was a moment we’ll never forget. We are definitely “opposites attract,” but that’s what makes us perfect for one another. We balance individuality with togetherness—we are both ourselves fully, and even stronger together. We support each other, challenge each other, and continue to grow together. From that first late-night call to saying “I do,” our love has always felt meant to be.
