Bridesmaid
Hannah Lucas is the yin to my yang. We lived together for three years (the entirety of law school) and haven't spent much time apart since - even living over two hours apart now, I see her more than I see my mailman. We had several other roommates during our time together (the one and only Brenna Germann, the hilarious Alexa St. Julien, the charismatic and chaotic Kat Mediavilla, a feral cat, and a small family of cockroaches), but Hannah was always right across the hall (or fighting me for the recliner). Hannah is smart, fearless, kind, and makes even the most mundane things so much fun. She is my number one hype woman, but she will always tell the truth (even when it's a hard truth, like telling you that your neck scarf is overkill - as if). She is the only person I could ever maintain a Snapchat streak for, and I am so lucky to have her with me on my big day!
Groomsman
Jon is my best friend and brother (not by blood or marriage, but through the lifelong brotherhood of Beta Theta Pi). We met our freshman year of college in Fulton, Missouri, and instantly hit it off. We even had the privilege (and chaos) of living together. You learn a lot about someone when you share a loft—and I learned that Jon listens to videos way too loud, sleeps with his eyes half open, and proudly puts barbeque sauce on pizza rolls (still not sold on that one). From intramural sports and Halloween costumes to philanthropy events and sorority formals, Jon has always been someone who shows up, goes all in, and never does anything halfway. He’s funny, kind, loyal, and easily one of the most dependable people I’ve ever known (which came in handy during my many college car troubles). Whether it’s offering advice, carrying me through beer pong tournaments, or being my biggest hype man, Jon has always been there. I’m proud to have him by my side, and even prouder to call him my brother.
Bridesmaid
Addie Kay is my little sister, but more than that she is one of my very best friends. She is truly hilarious and has a huge heart. I mostly say this because she has forgiven me for many wrongs I have committed against her over our twenty-four years of sisterhood: dropping her in a fountain at Disney World, telling her that getting stars in Super Mario Bros would make her lose the game (I told her I would take one for the team), and making every teacher have ridiculously high, even unnattainable expectations for her (I am perfect - duh). Addie reminds me not to take things too seriously, and to always be kind to other people. I couldn't have asked for a better sister.
Groomsman
Trey is my brother. Some people swear we look like twins (I still don’t see it, even if he has somehow unlocked my iPhone with his face), but I’ve got three solid years on him. That said, I genuinely don’t remember a version of life without Trey. From the beginning, we were inseparable. Exploring, competing, and inventing cutting-edge games like “Who Can Hit That Stick in the Water,” “Stick Duel,” and the classic “Race There and Back.” Trey is smart, resilient, and easily one of the luckiest people I’ve ever met. But when you consider how kind, thoughtful, and reliable he is, it just makes sense. He’s sincere, gives honest advice, and always offers a grounded perspective. Until Harper came into my life, no one knew me better than Trey did. I couldn’t have asked for a better brother to grow up with, and I’m incredibly lucky to have him by my side.
Bridesmaid
Darian was another one of my lucky law school meet cutes. Even more serendipitous, we ended up landing the exact same job right out of law school (mostly because they couldn't really tell the difference between us). Working together has truly shown us just how much we have in common, much to the dismay of our coworkers. Darian and I can have an entire conversation without exchanging any words, but we typically prefer to exchange as many words as humanly possible. Darian is one of the kindest, most generous hearts I have ever met, and she always keeps me laughing. I am so happy she will be with me for yet another big moment!
Groomsman
Alec is also my brother. With pain tolerance off the charts and wit to match, he was the perfect addition to our dynamic duo. He picked up on the stick games instantly and brought a whole new strategy to the table, his now iconic “if I go down, you’re all going with me” approach. It is still incredibly effective to this day. Even as a kid, Alec was an earnest worker, earning a fortune in “Jacob bucks” (a meaningless currency I created to outsource my chores), though I don’t think he ever cashed those in…oops! Alec is caring, quick with a joke (a la mode anyone?), and great at provoking interesting conversations you’re not quite sure how you got into. He’s a natural problem solver, always thinking a few steps ahead of everyone else, and he is a great salesman (just ask him about Dairy Queen’s gravy sometime). He’s one of a kind, and truly the best brother-from-another-mother I could ever ask for.
